Dr Nathalie Bureau

About

Dr Nathalie Bureau is a diagnostic radiologist specializing in diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal imaging. Her daily practice includes interpreting X-rays, MRI and CT scans for adult and pediatric patients, as well as performing diagnostic ultrasounds and injections. Her role is to help establish the diagnosis by providing a clear interpretation of imaging exams, which the referring physician can integrate into the patient's clinical context. Ultrasound also allows her to speak directly with patients, which helps her better understand their symptoms and refine the diagnosis. Finally, therapeutic injections allow her to take an active part in the patient's treatment.

Over more than 30 years of academic practice at the CHUM, Dr Bureau has trained many medical students, residents and fellows. She has supervised the research of several graduate students and published more than 110 scientific articles and 22 book chapters. An invited speaker on more than 150 occasions, mostly internationally, she has also been very active in several scientific societies.

She favours a caring and empathetic approach, making sure to clearly explain the procedures to be performed, informing patients about their condition and answering their questions.
